Heavy silver tankard with lid. Slightly conical body over a moulded round base. The wall decorated all over with vine tendrils and vines in relief and splendid foliage. Corresponding handle on the side, heavily moulded in relief. Domed hinged lid decorated with foliage and flowers and crowned by a fully sculpted male head as a pommel. Leaf-shaped pusher. Marked 800, indistinct hallmark. Weight approx. 690 g. H. 22 cm. A heavy Italian silver lidded tankard. Standard mark 800, indistinct assay mark. Italy. Probably Milan. 20th century.
