Edition decorated with 88 compositions in colour and enhanced with gold by George Barbier, wood-engraved by Pierre Bouchet, including the frontispiece and 12 hors texte, 2 on the cover, vignettes and lettering. Limited edition of 120 copies on Rives wove paper, this one No. 3 printed for N. Clément-Janin. Enriched with 4 original sketches by the artist in pencil and ink, on two leaves, for 3 of the figures in the book. This copy also includes the menu for the dinner given by Le Livre contemporain on 26 June 1929, decorated with an engraving signed in pencil by the painter and the engraver. A fine copy, enriched with four original sketches, of this edition undertaken by F-L. Schmied. Slightly damaged slipcase and jacket (thin cracks, paper detachments and missing paper). Illustrated cover darkened, with minor spotting, creases and tears. Few stains and folds in the body of the book, a tiny pen mark in the margin of a full-page engraving, without damaging the image.
