SCOTT (Walter) Paris, Menard, 1837–1838. Works. 25 vols. in-8, carmine long-grain half-maroquin, plain spine decorated with gold motifs running lengthways, marbled edges (contemporary binding). A popular collection of the novelist’s finest works: Ivanhoe, Quentin Durward, The Bride of Lammermoor, etc. Translated by Mr Albert Montémont. Bindings slightly rubbed, corners worn. Some foxing. Nevertheless, a decorative set.
