SCYTHIAN FAIENCE HORSE PLAQUE.
Ca. 9th - 8th century BC. A faience horse-shaped plaque in turquoise-blue, depicting a stylised equine figure with an elongated, curving body and a notched mane forming a serrated crest along the upper edge. The head extends forward with an open mouth. The legs are slender and slightly curved, terminating in rounded hooves. Circular perforations are distributed across the body, suggesting points for attachment or suspension. Size: 40mm x 90mm; Weight: 20g Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Sotheby's. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
