Sébastien CRAMOISY (1584-1669). L.A.S., Paris 30 October 1661, to "Monseigneur" 1 page in-4. Rare letter from the famous Parisian bookseller, first director of the Royal Printing House established in the Louvre by Louis XIII. He asks for confirmation of receipt of the books he has sent "to Vostre Grandeur", and whether he should investigate "whether there are any others on the same subject". He discovered one without the name of author or bookseller, "ny datte du temps qu'il a été imprimé". The first page reads: "Du Rang des Ambassadeurs du Roy aux Traitez de Paix". He was refused this book, and asked to have it transcribed...
