SELJUK HEAVY SILVER PENANNULAR BRACELET WITH ROSETTES. Ca. AD 1100 - 1200. A heavy silver penannular bracelet with a broad, rounded band. A pronounced central ridge runs vertically along the outer surface, dividing it into two symmetrical sections. The ends of the bracelet culminate in rectangular terminals, each adorned with an engraved rosette motif consisting of a central circle surrounded by six petals, bordered by a series of small punched dots. Additional linear, triangular and dot elements embellish the edges of the terminals. Size: 70mm x 50mm; Weight: 295g Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1990s.
