Rare jardiniere by Peter-Karl Fabergé Silver and colourless glass. On four moulded, gadrooned ball feet, oval body surrounded by a moulded rim with groove and cross-band decoration. The wall decorated on the front and back with rectangular cartouches framed by a pearl band with engraved monogr. "K J"(?) under a princely crown and dat. "24. VIII 1907". Circumferential decoration of griffins in relief, laurel wreaths, festoons and palmettes over an extremely finely chased ground. Curved handles on the sides, decorated with floral rosettes at the base. Glass insert with cut bottom star, the rim cut with stylised flower calyx decoration. Inside wall with delicate, incised inv. no. "21794". Marked 84, inspection mark, maker's mark in Cyrillic with court supplier's mark. Weight without glass insert approx. 670 g. H. 7.6 cm. 32 cm x 18.5 cm.
