Rare Castelli picture plate with wild boar hunting majolica. Round shape with moulded mirror and wide rim. Decorated all over in polychrome painting and gold. The mirror depicting a wild boar hunt, probably after an engraving by Antonio Tempesta; the rim with a rich foliate and floral border with cupids and birds. Minimally dam.; d. 30 cm.
Provenance: from the Michahelles Collection, Hamburg, which has grown over generations.
