Rare Istoariato plate (Tondino) with volcano and Venus majolica. Round, slightly conical shape with a small, convex mirror. Polychrome, full-surface decoration with a scenic depiction of Venus in the forge of Vulcan (Vulcanus) making an arrow on the anvil. Ring decoration in yellow and inscribed "vulcano et venere" on the underside and verso. Rest; d. 21 cm.

A small Italian Urbino polychrome painted istoriato maiolica dish (tondino) depicting Vulcan and Venus. Inscribed "vulcano et venere" on the bottom. Restored.
