L. 210 cm - W. 145 cm AC
Variations in colour due to age
Senneh is located in the heart of Kurdistan in the north-west of ancient Persia. Its name means the fortress of Sanan.
Senneh has developed a production of carpets in a style that is completely original and completely independent of Kurdish production. The work is highly refined. Senneh rugs have given their name to asymmetrical knots, but they are also knotted with symmetrical or Ghiordès knots.
Our carpet is very fine, its warp is made of polychrome silk and is called "seven colours". Its decoration, unusual in these carpets, is inspired by the drawings of Zili-Sultan. Birds abound around a multitude of flowers. The whole is framed by a wide border with a Heratian motif. The signature on our carpet is that of the Raana workshop and is dated 1900.
