The image dimensions are 100 x 60.5 cm, while the sheet measures 103 x 70.5 cm. Joe Tilson (b. 1928) The London-born British artist Joe Tilson studied from 1949 at the St. Martins School of Art. In 1952 he moved to the Royal College of Art, where he studied until 1955. A scholarship brought him to Rome for two years. Back in London, Tilson taught at the St. Martin's School until 1963, further teaching positions in England and Germany followed. In 1968 he participated in the documenta IV in Kassel. In the beginning close to the British Pop art movement, Tilson later developed typographical compositions with visual signs and concepts.
