SILVER TEA SERVICE (850) Goldsmith Froment-Meurice Paris, late 19th-early 20th century Model decorated with lanceolate leaves, a frieze of foliage alternating with spiral rosettes, canals and pearl mouldings; standing on a round foot with water-leaf mouldings, the lid surmounted by a handle in the shape of a melusine, reminiscent of the crest of the La Rochefoucauld coat of arms; the handles with leafy scrolls. Composed of: a teapot, a sugar bowl and its lid, a milk jug, a round bowl; the interiors in silver or vermeil Goldsmith's hallmark and Froment-Meurice mark in all letters Minerve hallmark A silver-plated kettle with two spouts and a movable handle; a stove and its lamp (no goldsmith's hallmark). The handle of the lid may have been added later.
