SERVICE DES PETITES VUES DE FRANCE. Royal and Imperial Manufactory, Sèvres, 1858-1863. Set of 12 hard-paste porcelain dinner plates, centrally decorated with a hand-painted polychrome medallion depicting a different view of France on each plate, surrounded by a gold frieze. The main "wing" border features a wide gold frieze decorated with small rosettes topped with palmettes on an agate blue background. Each plate bears the identification of the place represented in gold letters: The Laon Gate at Coucy-le-Château (Aisne); Châteauroux (Indre); Dardenne, near Toulon; At Montmerle (Ain); View of the Bois de Boulogne (Seine); The Tower of Henri IV at Moret (Seine-et-Marne); The tower at Villeneuve-lès-Avignon (Gard); At Chambertin (Côte-d'Or); The entrance to the tunnel at Baisy (Côte-d'Or); The banks of the Saône, below Mâcon; The Apremont gorges; The hillsides of Meudon. Very slight age wear, but overall very good condition. Green mark: SV, LP under royal crown (18)45, (18)46, (18)54, (18)55, (18)60. Gold mark: Sèvres, LP under royal crown, 1848. Red mark: decorated in Sèvres, N under imperial crown (18)58, (18)63. Diameter: 24 cm.
