Sèvres A hemispherical porcelain Egyptian bowl resting on a square base, with two ring-shaped handles, with polychrome decoration of birds, fruit and vases in two reserves on a chrome green background on a gold background decorated with rows of pearls, foliage scrolls, palmettes, lozenges and friezes of foliage burnished to effect. Marked in the vignette in red: M. Imple de Sèvres 10, marked in gold: 22 8bre Mo for Denis Joseph Moreau or Charles Raphaël Morin, recessed marks: DC for Louis Charles Descoins and Ch for Louis Mathias Chanou and 10 for 1810. On 28 December 1810, a cabaret with the following decoration entered the factory's sales outlet: Cabaret with gold base and gold lining, scraped birds in chrome green appliques and rich gold relief decoration. It included 12 Jasmin cups and saucers, an Egyptian teapot, an Egyptian sugar pot and an Egyptian milk jug. This 2220 franc cabaret was delivered on 31 December 1810 to the Empress and Queen Marie-Louise as a New Year's Day present, and was given to the Countess de Luçay, the Empress's lady-in-waiting. Although the decoration of our Egyptian milk jug corresponds precisely to that of this cabaret, it is not clear that it was part of it. (Arch. Sèvres, Vu1, f° 104 and Vbb2, f° 125).
