Gueffier, 1775. 2 volumes in-8 of [22 (of 24)]-342 and [4]-454 (misprinted 456) pages, spotted basane, spine ribbed and decorated (contemporary binding). First edition illustrated with 51 DEPLIANT MAPS. Sigaud de La Fond, a pupil of Abbé Nollet, succeeded him at Louis Legrand and his physics demonstrations were as successful as those of his predecessor. The beautiful plates describe in detail the physical, optical, chemical and meteorological apparatus in use in an experimental laboratory at the end of the 18th century. Missing headpieces, foxing on the first few leaves of the second volume. Ex-libris Augustin Seguin, a relative of the Montgolfier brothers.
