SIREULDE (Jacques). Le Trésor immortel tiré de l'Ecriture Sainte par Jacques Sireulde, published with an introduction by Ch. de BEAUREPAIRE. Rouen, Imprimerie Léon Gy, 1899. In-8, brown half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed, gilt title, date at tail, gilt head, marbled dust jacket (period binding). Reprint of this very rare work (of which Ch. de Beaurepaire lists only 2 copies in a public collection in his introduction) by the Rouen poet and bailiff in the King's parliament Jacques Sireulde, published in 1556. "The collection which is the subject of this study is more or less all that remains of a series of poetry competitions held in Rouen in honour of charity around the middle of the 16th century" (introduction). A fine publisher's copy on laid paper (Frère II, 532.) Ex-libris JM.
