SKELETON CLOCK WITH SECONDS, DATE, DAY, AND MONTH
France, ca. 1840.
Brass and gilt bronze. Curved portal shape on a rectangular base with flattened feet. Open movement with chronometer escapement and quarter-hour strike on three bells. Breguet hands. Three white enamel dials in the base for displaying the day, date, and month. Compensation pendulum. On a wooden plinth, partly covered with blue velour, with a rectangular glass dome rounded at the top. 1 key.
28 × 14 × 42 cm, with plinth and glass dome 34.5 × 17 × 47 cm.
Part of the escapement broken. Movement currently not running. Dial partially covered with hairline cracks.
