SMALL IZNIK POTTERY PLATE Turkey, Ottoman Empire, ca. 1600–1750. Flat shape with a narrow, raised rim. Painted in bole-red engobe, blue and emerald green. Decorated with roses, tulips and carnations growing out of tall grass, with an arabesque motif above. The narrow lip has a geometric pattern with half-flowers on a blue ground. The back has small rosette motifs in green and blue. Ø 26.3 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Geneva, since the 1960s/70s. Restoration to the rim and flaking of the red engobe. ------------------------------------------------- KLEINE IZNIK KERAMIK PLATTE Türkei, osmanisches Reich, um 1600–1750. Flache Form mit schmalem, ansteigenden Rand. Bemalt in Bolus-Rot engobiert, Blau und Smaragdgrün. Mit Rosen, Tulpen und Nelken, die aus hohem Gras emporranken, darüber ein Arabeskenmotiv. Die schmale Fahne mit einem geometrischen Dekor mit Halbblumen auf blauem Grund. Die Rückseite mit kleinen Rosettenmotiven in Grün und Blau. Ø 26,3 cm. Provenienz: Privatsammlung, Genf, seit den 1960/70er Jahren. Randrestaurierungen und Abblättern der roten Engobe.
