The under-helmet has green paint applied by brush over the factory paint. Below the insignia of the 9th DIC is a first insignia of the same type, but larger. Leather headband present with 2 clips missing, small chinstrap present, neck band missing. US M1 liner made by Westinghouse bearing at front the white anchor of the 9th Colonial Infantry Division handpainted over the factory green finish. Beneath the insignia traces of an earlier larger anchor emblem are visible. Leather band present with two clips missing small chinstrap intact neckband absent.
