SOUVENIRS. Rare and beautiful set of souvenirs of battalion commander André Lépissier from his time at the Fontainebleau military preparatory school in 1903 to 1940 as a recalled battalion commander. Family provenance. LÉPISSIER André Bernard (1887-1972), the son of a gendarme, he entered the Fontainebleau military preparatory school in 1903, volunteering in 1905 for the 131st RI (Orléans), where he was sergeant-major in August 1914; Wounded on 31 August at Fossé (Ardennes), he was then posted to the 82nd Infantry Regiment, then made lieutenant of the 80th in 1915, returned to the 131st Infantry Regiment in 1916, was taken prisoner in March 1918, posted to the 9th RTA in 1920, then captain of the 1st RTA and 9th Zouaves in 1928, battalion commander of the 4th and then 1st RTA in 1933. He is a Knight of the Legion of Honour. Gendarme's giberna model 1889/04 in patent leather, brass grenade patelette, white and yellow buffalo streamer with brass fittings. ABE This gibern belonged to Apollinaire LÉPISSIER, father of battalion commander LÉPISSIER.
