There is an article by Miguel Ortuño Palao 'Los Ayuntamientos durante el período 1823 - 1831' (Councils in the 1823 - 1831 period) in which he describes this turbulent period of the regency, in Yecla Council, Murcia. In the text we find references that allow us to situate our characters in that city, cited as the parents of Joaquín Quilez Ortega. Thus we read in the entry dedicated to the events of 3 to 6 July 1823:
'One hour later Quílez appears in his capacity as perpetual alderman and goes on to provisionally exercise ordinary jurisdiction as regent. Those above-mentioned are sworn in and agree to release the political detainees and tell them to describe the suffering they endured during the 'so-called constitutional system'. At ten o'clock in the evening they adjourned. Quílez (1775-1855) was the son of Joaquín Quílez Yarza and Francisca Ortega Ortega; in 1809 he married Lorenza Jordán Cebrián (1780-1853); he fought against the French in the War of Independence and they plundered his luxurious house in the street of San Antonio; owner of the Hoya Hermosa and being the second property-owner in the town, he was invested as a knight of the Real Maestranza de Ronda. Years later, in 1836, he was charged with not admitting the colonel assigned to him into his home'.
