Spanish School of the first quarter of the 17th century.  Possibly School of Valladolid. Circa 1610 - 1620. "The Virgin of the Pillar" Oil on canvas.  It is accompanied by a magnificent carved, gilded and sgraffito 17th century Majorcan frame. The scene depicts a canon or religious man being introduced by a guardian angel (who holds the traditional symbol related to Medinaceli in his hand, the S and the nail) to the Virgin of the Pillar, accompanied by Saint John the Baptist, Mary Magdalene and Saint Francis of Assisi. 194 x 175 cm.
