LATE GOTHIC PAINTED IRON CASKET Switzerland or southern Germany, around 1500. Iron painted green, red and golden yellow. Rectangular body with flat hinged lid. The front corners reinforced with twisted pilasters. With handles on the sides, attached to rosettes. The back and lid reinforced with three bands, some decorated with rosettes. The central band on the lid hides the keyhole. Lock with three latches. 1 key. 22 × 13 × 13 cm. Flaws and minor restorations. Parts of the lock plate broken off.
