His main work on Chinese grammar from 1881 is still considered the standard today and continues to be reprinted. - Available with a blank dictionary for field research in the colonies with general instructions, index of a basic vocabulary for approx. 1,200 terms as well as a systematic categorisation. - Paper only minimally and very delicately browned.
