Volume ½ Folio, first edition with original marbled cover with leather spine with title of the volume in gold lettering. The text consists of six books and has a beautiful copper engraving by Pietro Bombelli on a sketch by Giuseppe Errante depicting the author of the book on the frontispiece. In more than good condition, slight staining to the edge of the pages. The work, printed at the behest of the Pope, deals with the theme of human rights, claiming that only in the Christian religion is there a protection of them, in opposition to Rousseau's theses. The indication of the place of printing is false, as it was not actually published in Assisi, but in Rome for the types of Salvioni
