A stately stag as a table decoration, modelled on a 17th century drinking game; silver, partially gilded. Fully sculpted standing stag on a naturalistic oval base. Detailed fur pattern and removable head. A broad ornamental band around the neck ending in an oval medallion. On it the depiction of the Archangel Michael in the form of a soldier, clad in breast armour and helmet, standing on the defeated dragon. Holding a patriarchal cross in one hand and an oval shield with the Latin inscription "Quis ut deus" in the other. Gilt interior. Marked, pseudo marks. Weight approx. 630 g. H. 27 cm.
