Buddha statue in black and gold lacquered wood, Thailand 18th-19th c.
Seated in meditation posture (dhyana mudra), this Buddha has characteristic features, a serene face with elongated features, regular curly hair and a high cranial flame (ushnisha).
The wood is covered in a black lacquer with vestiges of old gilding, particularly visible on the face, torso and knees. H. 45 cm (without base) × W. 22 cm
Condition: with normal surface wear, a few visible chips, small defect on the arm.
