Bronze statue of Anubis. The jackal/dog-headed god is shown standing on a base inscribed with hieroglyphs on all four sides. He is wearing a loincloth and his belly is covered with a garment of feathers arranged in scales. Traces of gold inlay on the eyebrows, wig and pectoral. Egypt. Late Period (664-332 BC) or Ptolemaic Period (332-30 BC). H. 17 cm (18.5 cm with tenon). Oxidation, accidents and missing parts. The front leg is broken below the knee.
