STATUETTE OF A PEPLOSKORE
Greek, 5th century BC.
Bronze with green patina. Standing robed figure of a girl with her hair parted and tied into a bun. She is holding her gathered robe on her left thigh. On a later black plinth.
H without plinth 12 cm.
Two small holes at the bottom of the garment. Right hand missing. Rubbed on the reverse. Minor verdigris.
Provenance:
- Swiss private collection, 1984 (according to the inventory list of Ars Antiqua, 1984).
- Through inheritance in the same family estate.
