Mid XIXth Century. Note : By the second half of the 19th century, fascination with the decorative arts of the Renaissance was spreading in the circles of European high society. In Vienna, goldsmiths were inspired by the objects in the Kunstkamer, the "rooms of wonders" of 16th-century German and Austrian princes, which contained natural curiosities mounted in gold, silver or hard stone, as well as numerous miniature ivory sculptures.
