The industrial procession of 25 June 1840 occupies 48 plates in width (54 x 35 cm), including 5 larger double plates (64 x 35 cm), depicting the various trades and craftsmen of Strasbourg, with the banners of the old guilds at the head, followed by the masters and workers around a masterpiece or a float carrying the tools or emblematic products of each profession. Finally, 2 unnumbered plates depict the inauguration of the statue of Gutenberg and the ball organised the day before and the day after the procession.
Plates 47 to 53 (including two double plates) depict the floats of the book trades: paper makers, lithographers, bookbinders and typesetters.
The double plate of the tanners (no. 22-23) is missing. A faded copy, with some plates damaged or soiled, marginal tears, tears and repairs to some plates; scattered stains and wetness, inscriptions and sketches on the verso of the prints; tears to the portfolio.
