Together 5 volumes in-folio, green half-percaline, smooth spine (Period binding). An important work rarely found complete in five volumes, containing a total of 251 plates, several of which are duplicates. The Antiquités d'Athènes is illustrated with 191 line-engraved plates hors texte, apart from some etched view figures. This is the French translation by L. F. Feuillet, librarian of the Institut, of Stuart and Revett's Antiquities of Athens, first published in London between 1761 and 1816. Volume IV of this translation, also published by Firmin Didot, was published by Bance aîné. The unpublished Antiquities of Attica is illustrated with 60 engraved plates, with etched views of the monuments. Worn bindings, spines detached with small tears, boards and corners rubbed. Freckles and dull paper.
