STUNNING APULIAN BELL KRATER WITH OFFERING NIKE BY THE GROUP OF LECCE PAINTER 660 Ca. 350 - 330 BC. A black-glazed krater with an inverted bell-shaped body supported on a high pedestal foot and flanked by two horizontal loop handles. The vessel is decorated in the red-figure technique with added white and yellow details. Side A presents a winged and nude Eros striding to the left, holding a box in his extended right hand and a bunch of grapes in the left. He is surrounded by vertical vegetal tendrils and floral rosettes. Side B depicts the head of a lady of fashion in profile to the left, with refined facial features and hair gathered under a sakkos. She wears a double-strand necklace and a drop earring. A band of radiating tongues decorates the underside of the rim, while bands of chevron and S-shapes encircle the base of the figured scenes.
