STUNNING ROMAN GLASS DOUBLE BALSAMARIUM WITH CROSSED HANDLE.

A teal coloured translucent glass double balsamarium composed of two elongated tubular vials joined along their long sides and tapering to a rounded base, each with a thick rounded rim at the mouth. On each outer side applied sinuous trails descend from the shoulders, and above the vials an M-shaped strap handle rises, surmounted by a crossed trail forming a small loop.

Provenance: Private London collection; previously acquired from a Belgian collection (1980s-1990s).
