STUNNING ROMAN GOLD AND SARDONYX CAMEO PENDANT WITH JULIA DOMNA.
Ca. AD 200.
A gold ovoid pendant with a suspension loop and a rope-patterned border enclosing a white on black sardonyx cameo depicting a bust of Julia Domna, the Roman empress from 193 to 211 as the wife of Emperor Septimius Severus. She is portrayed in her right profile with delicate face details, her hair is pulled back to a chignon.
