STUNNING ROMAN MARBLE STATUE OF DIADOUMENOS Ca. AD 1 - 100. A marble male torso carved from fine white marble and preserved from the neck to mid-thighs. The figure stands in gentle contrapposto with the left shoulder raised and the right lowered, the chest smoothly modelled and the abdomen lightly indented along the midline. On the reverse, a straight spinal groove descends between the shoulder blades to the sacrum with softly rounded buttocks. Mounted on a modern stand.
