Extremely finely and richly detailed second station of Christ's Way of the Cross. Comparable to this is an ivory relief from the 17th century in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum Munich, inv. no. R 4486. Similar depictions of the Flagellation of Christ can also be found in paintings from the first half of the 17th century, which have been used to date this relief, including the Flagellation of Christ by Johann König in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nuremberg, inv. no.
