SUITE OF EIGHT BOWLS, SEVEN OF THEM FROM NICHAPUR, XTH/XTH CENTURIES in clay ceramic with black, brown, yellow and green painted decoration on a white slip, with various decorations: "kaleidoscopic", "Sari", brown slip, etc. Two with bird decoration, the last five decorated with stylized flowing, geometric and calligraphic motifs. The eighth bowl on a pedestal is probably Byzantine. (Fractures and heavy restorations, some pieces removed). North-east Iran, 10th-11th centuries. A GROUP OF EIGHT POTTERY DISHES, SEVEN FROM NISHAPUR, EASTERN IRAN, 10TH/11TH CENTURY. DIM. (of the largest) : HEIGHT 11 CM (4 ½ IN.); DIAM 37 CM (14 ½ IN.)
