A suite of four large chased ormolu sconces with four arms of light with foliate spandrels and bobeches held by allegorical figures in terms, one representing a young girl wearing a star-spangled ribbon, the other a boy with his hair enhanced by vine branches. The low plates, decorated with vine leaves or bunches of grapes, are adorned with double scrolls and terminate in leafy bases. Regency style, 19th century Height 69 cm - Width: 48 cm This model is directly inspired by the creations of the great bronzemaker of the reign of Louis XIV, André Charles Boulle. The Musée du Louvre holds a pair of two-light arms formed by two child figures, a young boy and a girl, half-dressed in drapery, the girl's hair held back by a ribbon.
