SUBJECT in gilded bronze, depicting Shakyamuni Buddha wearing a robe revealing his right shoulder, seated in "vajrasana" on a lotiform base with a double row of petals, performing "bhumishparsamudra" (gesture of taking the earth as witness) with the right hand and holding the alms bowl "patra" with the left hand. (Worn gilding). Sino-Tibetan work, late 19th century. A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA, SINO-TIBETAN WORK, LATE 19TH CENTURY. HEIGHT 6.7 CM (2 5/8 IN.)
