SUMERIAN GOLD COILED RING
Ca. 2100 - 1800 BC
A gold ring composed of a wide band that wraps around in a spiral configuration, forming an overlapping structure. The surface of the gold exhibits a smooth yet slightly textured finish. Along the length of the band, parallel linear impressions are present, creating a repetitive pattern of fine ridges. These are situated symmetrically along the central axis of the band. The edges of the ring display subtle undulations.
