SUMERIAN SHELL INLAY DEPICTING A WARRIOR - EX. CHRISTIE'S Early Dynastic III, Ca. 2600 BC. A fragmentary shell inlay depicting a bearded warrior wearing a crested helmet and holding a long weapon angled across his torso. A dotted mantle is draped over the left shoulder, leaving the right shoulder exposed. Facial features, garment pattern, and weapon details are finely incised and highlighted with black bitumen.
