SUMERIAN STONE RECUMBENT BULL Ca. 2500 - 2200 BC. A compact figure of a recumbent bull carved from dark mottled stone. The animal rests with its legs folded beneath the body, the head with short ears and a prominent snout turned slightly to the right. Shallow carving marks define the limbs, haunches, and facial structure, while the horns are rendered as small, rounded projections.
