SUPERB BACTRIAN SCHIST DECORATED BOWL. Ca. 2500 - 2200 BC. A schist bowl of deep cylindrical form with a thick rim and flat base. The exterior is carved in low relief with an all-over pattern of overlapping scale-like panels. Each panel bears fine parallel grooves. Narrow cross-hatched bands bound the design above and below.
