SUPERB CHALCIDIAN BRONZE HELMET WITH CHEEKS Ca. 500 - 400 BC A striking Chalcidian helmet comprised of hammered bronze. This helmet is distinguished by its curved cheekpieces, attached by thin bronze pins that form a hinge. A teardrop-shaped nose guard extends down from its raised curves, framing the eyes. The forehead features a sweeping central ridge and an overhanging brow line. Curved sides leave the ears uncovered, enhancing communication on the battlefield.
