SUPERB ROMAN AUBERGINE GLASS GOBLET. Ca. 1st century AD. A large goblet cast and pressed in transparent aubergine glass. Its shape is simple and elegant with a flat bottom and straight, thick walls. The body flares slightly at the rim, the angular lip was carved. Several lines of varying thickness are incised on the middle of the body and under the lip.
