SUPERB ROMAN BRONZE OPEN-WORK FOOT SHAPED OIL LAMP WITH LID Ca. AD 400 - 500 A Roman cast bronze oil lamp in the shape of a foot in a sandal or leather shoe. The shoe is decorated with high relief crosses and on the back of the foot is decorated with a ribbed design. The top of the hinged lid is embellished with an open-work dome on top of four columns, surmounted by a legionary winged eagle.
