TABATIERE. Rectangular in shape, brown tortoiseshell, centrally decorated with a miniature portrait painted on ivory and preserved under a curved glass in a gold frame depicting a bust of Emperor Napoleon I posing slightly three-quarter length in the uniform of a colonel of the Imperial Guard mounted chasseurs, wearing the plaque and grand cordon of the Order of the Legion of Honour, the cross of the Legion of Honour and the insignia of the Order of the Iron Crown, set in arabesques and floral motifs set with diamond roses and Rhinestone. Minor damage to the hinge, good overall condition. French work from the First Empire period. H.: 2 cm - W.: 9 cm - D.: 5.5 cm.
