Snuffbox
Made of weathered, carved and engraved wood and metal. Shaped like a hen standing on its legs. The opening is situated beneath the bird, at the level of its legs, and is accessed via a recessed lid; the mechanism for opening it was operated by the claws on its legs. Two holes form the eyes, and the plumage is rendered in a diamond-patterned latticework.
