Snuffbox
Made of carved walnut and metal. Rectangular in shape, the lid is adorned with the emperor’s initial ‘N’, set between two stems bearing flowers and foliage. It bears the surname ‘GOURICHON’ on the front, as well as a flower and a bunch of grapes on the sides. A full-length portrait of the owner is carved on the back, beneath the hinge.
